Hand Maintenance

If you find yourself tearing your hands during pull-ups, toes to bar, kettlebell swings, etc then pay attention because I’m gonna school you on what you need to stop that nonsense. It is NOT awesome to walk around with torn hands from a WOD – it does happen but it’s not some kind of badge of courage. I’ve tried all sorts of remedies to prevent this – pumice stones, sandpaper, athletic tape but each of these is not worth the effort.

My recommendation is to either use gymnastics grips (we have a pair or two at the gym for you to try) or shave your calluses with a medieval-looking corn and callus remover. The video below shows what this looks like and how it works…
