2015-03-31 The Open is Over & We are Finally Open at the New Location

So the open has come to an end. There will be plenty of updates to the leaderboard over the next day or so but I was proud of everybody that completed the open as each of you pushed yourself every week. I know things have been a little hectic Thurs-Monday during this time but we’ll start to settle back in to a normal routine now. Thank you to everybody who judged and cheered on your gym-mates. It may not seem like much, but having somebody push you when things get tough is motivating and helps dampen the pain (note I didn’t say remove the pain).

If you’re having trouble finding the new location it’s because the mappers at Google put our address in the wrong location. We’re working on it but in the meantime the website contact page has the right map. You can also google All Seasons Sportswear and we’re right behind their building. I hope everybody was able to find the place but if not, my apologies.

And now back to the open (stream of consciousness today) – I’m sure you had an idea but the open is good at smacking you square in the face with your weaknesses. Don’t get discouraged; use this data to get better. And always remember that progress isn’t linear. There will be periods of gainz(!) and other times when you feel like you’re back to square one. You’re not. It might feel like that sometimes but think of it as a test of will power. You can also train your will power too by stepping into cold showers or placing your back (bare skin) against a cold metal chair. Okay, maybe only weirdos like me do that stuff and that’s not really the point anyway. The point is that we only experience joy when we make progress because we know what failure feels like. Don’t let it win. After all it’s just exercise.
