The Inevitability of Excuses and Success
Week 2 of the Open competition is in the books and we’ve had some really great performances. I know last week was frustrating for some of you but keep in mind that basically NONE of you ladies could do a single pullup when you walked in the door and yet so many of you got multiple reps in the last workout. It’s easy to get frustrated when you project where you would like to be, but don’t forget to celebrate the journey and its small successes along the way.
For those of you that weren’t able to get a pullup, just use that as motivation to continue towards that goal. Deep down we all understand that consistency, diligence and grit are the path to success. Too many want some shortcut or magic bean to get there quicker. It doesn’t exist. But that’s what makes reaching the destination so worthwhile. When others talk about why they don’t have time, or energy and make excuses – you can look back and realize that you did it because you put in the work. Then when those same people try and tear down your accomplishments, and they will, you can just smile knowing that success comes with a price. But the prize of accomplishing your goal is priceless…
