The CrossFit Open starts in a few weeks. If you’re not familiar, the Open is a worldwide competition lasting 5 weeks and is the first step in crowning the fittest man and woman on the planet. The top performing athletes from each region will move on from the open to regionals and then the top 3 in each region will compete in the CrossFit Games.
So you’re probably wondering why YOU should sign up for the open? After all, only the top 1% of all athletes will move on to Regionals. However, the Open does give you a chance to test yourself and see how you stack up against everyone in the world. It also gives you a benchmark you can judge yourself against in the future, and it usually makes your weaknesses painfully obvious. Competition breeds excellence…
